![]() Not to slag Studio One, I'm sure it's a nice product, but they are heading toward the same moated business model as UA (and Apple, Sonos, etc.), trying to bind hardware and software features together to drive higher prices and profit margins. If you go to the cloud model, you would pay monthly or yearly, $165 - $180 every year into perpetuity, and then hope they never force you into the cloud model by getting rid of (or crippling) their perpetual licenses if you don't like the thought of the cloud model (See Microsoft Office for a real world example of that). Now Studio One does come with a bunch of other plugins, but if you've been working with Cubebase for a long time, I'd assume you have most other plugins already covered. So Reaper + ME = $160, versus Studio One Pro at $400. Keep in mind Studio One come with Melodyne Essential which is $99 to purchase. And now, even at the price of buying, and foremost learning a new daw,a happy user of 20+ years is ready to make the switch to studio one / reaper / abelton cause of it. IF I was a new daw user I wouldn’t even consider steinberg cause of this d**n elicenser proces. I get why steinberg wants to prevent illegal use of their stuff.but they have gone several bridges to far in trying to protect it. and willing to spell it out for me?įinal thought. so here’s my question (finally ).can anyone direct me to info on how to do this? I’m willing to do that if I can find a “monkey” proof instruction how to go from a license without a dongle.to transfering those to a dongle. Seems the only solution is to buy a dongle. Then the issue of running 1 license on 2 machines. ![]() My experience wih steinberg support is that they take several weeks to respond.I don’t have that time. Also there seems no easy way to use one license on 2 machines.Ītm on the new machine I installed elicenser.and the Menubox to register the license is greyed out.so I’m stuck.can’t find any info on that phenomena. I remember pulling my hair out installing cubase earlier cause of that damn elicenser.this time it seems even worse. Also I want that Mac around for a while to finish other projects. I wanna keep my Mac up and running while setting up the new machine. I have been using cubase for probably 25 years now.Atari ST for the win back in the days.Ītm I aim to replace my 10 year old Mac for a windows machine. ![]()
