And both loved lively intellectual discussions, music, bridge, the Landings, the Marshes, the city of Savannah, and most especially their friends.Īfter George passed, Carole became a killer bocce ball and Mahjong player. Carole and George were additionally enthusiastic volunteers. They were both avid golf players often playing 3 to 4 times a week until age and infirmities slowed them down. They had the best retirement anyone could ask for. George persuaded her to join him in retirement in 1994 at The Landings on Skidaway Island in Savannah. While working, often beyond full time, she ran her home, raised two children, and completed a demanding graduate school education.Ĭarole earned a master’s degree in special education from Kean College and another master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Rutgers University, while a distinguished award was earned as a special education teacher in the Scotch Plains N.J. Though married in the middle of her senior year, she acquired her Bachelor of Education In 3 ½ years with a Magna Cum Laude and went to work as an elementary school teacher in New Your City.Ĭarole was an accomplished multi-tasker. Their children Marc and Marcia and grandchildren Julia and Gina were their pride and joy. They were devoted to each other celebrating 66 happy years together until the passing of George in 2018. During her senior year she met her future George Staimer on a blind date. She graduated from High School in 3 ½ years with a 4.0 grade point average that qualified her acceptance at Queens College. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Dr Richard Green. Carole Deborah Green Staimer and widow of George G Staimer, passed away quietly in her sleep September 29 at home under the care of Kindred Hospice.Ĭarole was born in New York City to Dr Murray Green and Esther Green and leaves behind daughter Marcia married to Elliot Dalberg son Marc married to Alisa Blum and two granddaughters Julia and Gina Staimer. ![]()
